Adventure and risk

Follow the desires that God has given you into risk and adventure. Do not spend your energy mitigating risk. Spend it pursuing and obeying God.

The price of our vitality is the sum of our fears.

David White

"How?" is a faithless question. God will take care of that. Concern yourself with your part, which is obedience and faith.

Seek God and to discover your desires in the wilderness and in solitude.

Do not be afraid of mystery. It is a good and deep part of reality. You must enter into the world of God, not just gather information about it.

A woman does not want to be fixed. She wants to be known. "What's wrong?" is a terrifying question to ask. It leads to uncertainty and mystery.

Your old self (flesh) wants a formula for success and a guarantee. Don't wait for that. Go forward with God as your Father and friend into the risk, the uncertainty, the adventure.

Questions to ask God:

  1. What are you teaching me?
  2. What are you asking me to let go of?

Trust these words of Jesus by acting on them:

Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up tomorrow.

Matthew 6:33-34
