Directives from 2 Timothy

These are in the order they appear. The "me" is Paul.

  1. Fan into flame the gift of God which is in you.
  2. Do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me, his prisoner.
  3. Join with me in suffering for the gospel.
  4. What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.
  5. Guard the good words spoken to you with the help of the Spirit.
  6. Be strong in the grace of Christ Jesus.
  7. The things you hear me say, entrust to reliable men who will be able to teach them to others.
  8. Endure hardship with us.
  9. Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight.
  10. Remember Jesus, raised from the dead, descended from David
  11. Keep reminding them that if we endure and die with Christ, we will reign and live with him.
  12. Warn them against quarreling. It is of no value and ruins those who listen.
  13. Handle the word of truth correctly according to God.
  14. Avoid godless chatter.
  15. Flee evil desires of youth.
  16. Pursue righteousness, faith, and love with those who call on God with a pure heart
  17. Dont have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because they produce quarrels.
  18. Do not quarrel. Be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.
  19. Gently instruct those who oppose you, in the hope that God will grant them repentance, leading them to knowledge of the truth.
  20. Mark this: there will be terrible times in the last days.
  21. Have nothing to do with those who love themselves and not God
  22. Continue in what you have learned from me
  23. Preach the word
  24. Be prepared all the time to correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.
  25. Keep you head in all situations
  26. Endure hardship
  27. Do the work of an evangelist
  28. Discharge (?) all the duties of your ministry
