Prayer for a clear vision of the goodness of life with God

Father, give our church a clear and beautiful vision of what life with you is like. May it captivate us and draw us towards you. May it be ever in our minds, like a shining light, drawing us into obedience and holiness.

How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord. My heart and flesh cry out for the living God. (Psalm 84:1-2)

Let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12)

Lord you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance! (Psalm 16:5-6)

You have filled my heart with greater joy than when grain and new wine abound. (Psalm 4:7)

You have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence. (Psalm 21:6)

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (Psalm 23:1-3)

I love the house where you live, O Lord, the place where your glory dwells. (Psalm 26:8)

One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. (Psalm 27:4)

How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you. In the shelter of your presence you hide them from the intrigues of men; in your dwelling place you keep them safe from accusing tongues. (Psalm 31:19-20)
